PM Modi Speech:

The truth about Operation Sindoor and the ceasefire has now come before the entire world. When India’s attacks increased pressure on Pakistan, it was Pakistan that pleaded for a ceasefire. This raises the question: when Pakistan was being defeated, why did India let it go? Was Operation Sindoor over? Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and answered all these questions.

PM Modi clearly stated that India did not agree to the ceasefire under any international pressure, but rather accepted it in response to Pakistan’s desperate pleas. He explained that Pakistan had fallen to its knees before India and was repeatedly requesting a ceasefire.

PM Modi said, “Under Operation Sindoor, India inflicted such severe damage on Pakistan that it began appealing to the world for peace. India’s missile strikes hit their targets with great precision. The Pakistani airbases they were proud of suffered heavy damage. In just the first three days of the operation, Pakistan faced losses it could never have imagined.”

He further explained that Pakistan, rattled by India’s aggressive action, began seeking ways to de-escalate tensions. On the afternoon of May 10, the Pakistani army itself contacted India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO). By that time, the Indian Army had already destroyed terrorist hideouts and eliminated hundreds of terrorists.

PM Modi also made it clear that India’s aim was to eradicate terrorism from its roots — and it has been largely successful in that mission.

Prime Minister Modi further said, “We turned the terrorist camps thriving in Pakistan’s heart into ruins. When Pakistan pleaded and assured that there would be no more terrorist activities or military misadventures from its side, only then did India consider the ceasefire.”

Prime Minister Modi made India’s stance on Operation Sindoor absolutely clear. He stated in unequivocal terms that Operation Sindoor has not ended — it has only been paused for now.

PM Modi said, “I want to repeat once again — we have only suspended our retaliatory action against Pakistan’s terrorist and military targets, not ended it. In the coming days, every step taken by Pakistan will be judged based on its approach and behavior.”

He also mentioned that all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces — the Air Force, the Army, and the Navy — along with the BSF and paramilitary forces, remain on high alert.

Modi reiterated, “After the surgical strike and the airstrike, Operation Sindoor has now become India’s clear policy against terrorism.”
